He is known for developing armoured warfare, and for his books, History of the Second World War, Strategy: The Indirect Approach, The Defence of Britain and The Revolution in Warfare.A decorated soldier, Sir Liddell Hart volunteered to become an officer in the Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and fought on the Western Front. Promoted to the rank of Captain, he was known for his understanding of tactics and armoured warfare.
